Hi, I found this by chance. It's 2 pounds with clear double letters. Please rate

  • Wow, Naser --

That's strong doubling. Good eye! I wish the coin itself was in better shape. However, I think it carries some value over face. I think it is worth $5 to $15 US dollars.

Is your coin dated 2010? The ones I see on the Internet seem to all be 2010.

Poking around, here are some info I've found.

    1. Your coin is known well enough to show up on CoinTalk:

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/great-britain-2010-%C2%A32-pound-doubled-die-error.324790/

The CoinTalk thread is interesting. Apparently, someone brought it up with the Royal Mint, and the mint dismissed it as machine doubling, not truly a doubled die. I would be surprised if this were the case. It does not look like machine doubling to me, but it looks like a very strong doubled die, something that the mint would not be proud of.

    2. There's also a guy on eBay who calls this coin "counterfeit" but gives no explanation why:

This coin is dated 2008. The counterfeit claim is weird. I would dismiss this item.

    3. The clincher is this eBay coin which is currently at auction:

They guy is trying to get more than $30 for it, which is (in my book) way too much.

I suggest you watch this auction and see what it finally sells for.
