Can you help

My husband has an old coin collection which I have been able to identify all but three of the coins.  They have been scanned showing face and back for each coin.  Can you please advise the Country, Year of Issue and Coin Denomination?  Thanks in advance

  • Jan -- The first appears to be a 1/10 qirsh from Egypt, dated 1327/6 AH. The catalogs report a value of $1 USD. I could not find an example on eBay, but here is a 5/10 qirsh:

  • The second (with only one photo) was  hard to find. Here is a description from an auction:

    =======================

    Stack's Bowers Galleries (& Ponterio) - August 2019 Hong Kong Auction, Lot 52334
    CHINA. Reformed Government of China. Copper-Nickel 20 Fen Pattern, Year 29 (1940). PCGS SPECIMEN-62 Gold Shield. KM-Pn4; JNDA-23-1. Struck during the Japanese Occupation by the Hua Hsing Commercial Bank in Shanghai, a financial institution established by puppet authorities of the Japanese in May 1939. Struck in Nickel. EXTREMELY RARE and the first example that we have seen. Sharply struck With light attractive tone. A great rarity that is left unpriced in the JNDA book. Estimate: $18000.00

    =======================

    My first picture corresponds to the description above. They claim it is extremely rare. Remember, for any collectible coin:

    DO NOT CLEAN YOUR COIN. CLEANING RUINS VALUE.

    My search found two other examples.

    Second picture has a different reverse. Auction price realized was $56.

    • Jan Reed The Internet, Google etc., is the first place to look for more details. Better would be to show your coin in person to a knowledgeable collector, a member of a local coin club, or a professional coin dealer. Be careful with dealers. In my experience, about 10% of them are shysters. If possible, visit one who appears on this web site:

  • The third seems to be from India, Hyderabad. For instance:
