  • Hello, Mohamed --

Nice coins! As you say, they are from the Almohad Caliphate, 1121 to 1269 AD. They are probably silver dirhams, although other denominations were minted: 1/4, 1/2, 2, and 4 dirhams. The 1 dirham coins weigh about 1.5 grams and measure about 15 mm. Larger denominations are worth more, smaller denominations are worth less.

I can't read the inscriptions, but many of the Almohad coins in my database say "Anonymous in the name of Imam Al-Mahdi."

As to value, most coins like yours sell to collectors for $30 to $50 US dollars. The dirham in my picture sold for $42 during a 2022 auction. A coin dealer would probably offer about one-half that amount.

  • @Paul Richards Hi,dear Paul! Mohamed said nothing, except that he follows our site(in arab script & language). 😂😂😂

It's me who told him(in my reply),by the same way(script & arab language😜),that his coins are silver dirhems of the Almohad Empire, around 1100AD. 😁😁😁

       Friendly yours bro.,
