Hello Rehana & JDD --
Lincoln cents are the mainstay of US coin collecting. Most collectors here started by carefully placing Lincoln cents in a blue folder. That's how I started 63 years ago. If you haven't filled a blue Whitman folder, don't wait. Start today.
Manfred is right. Rehana's coin is worth one cent in the US.
Here are a few points about JDD's eBay observations:
(1) Never estimate price based on eBay auctions UNLESS the auction appears under their 'advanced search' SOLD feature. Any asking price on eBay means nothing. Only coins that have actually sold on eBay are meaningful. If sold, the price is an excellent indication of value.
(2) The term SMS means "special mint set." These sets were sold for a short time by the US Mint. Coins in these sets are fully uncirculated. Fully uncirculated coins carry a premium over face value. Rehana's coin is circulated. No premium.
(3) Coins which have been authenticated, graded, and encapsulated by PCGS, NGC, ICG, or ANACS carry premiums over face value. Services other than PCGS, NGC, ICG, and ANACS are suspect.
