Destiney -- It looks like a gold 8 escudos coin from one of the Spanish colonies in the New World, probably Mexico. The date is clearly 1714, and it is a "cob" coin made by stamping a pattern into a slab of gold cut from the end of a bar of gold.
I have no reason to doubt your coin's authenticity. It looks genuine, not counterfeit. But, if genuine, it is very valuable. The one in my picture is similar to yours, and it sold for $17000 US dollars.
Check the weight. Genuine 8 escudos weigh about 27.5 grams. It could be 4 escudos (smaller denomination) which weigh about 14 grams.
